I absolutely adore Marc Chagall's work. His paintings are so dreamlike, yet tangible at the same time. Because fashion and art are so closely intertwined I decided to experiment with some of my outfits by taking a 1/2 cup of fashion, a 1/2 cup of art, a dash of graphic design, and stirring till frothy. The bottom pic was the result.
Two of Chagall's paintings.
A blue window by Chagall.
This is my interpretation of Chagall's work. I love his predominately blue pieces, and chose to mimic those with this photo. The chaotic, yet simultaneously calming, environment makes this one of my favorite designs by far.

Operation Beautiful
Operation Beautiful is an effort to encourage women to be healthy and to discourage eating disorders. Being an individual who's intrigued by the fashion world of the rail thin, I have personally experienced the pressure to lose weight. I love the message of hope this project gives to women. Post-it-notes and markers will now always be with me.

NYC prep
So...NYC prep starts tonight aka "The Real Gossip Girl." Honestly, I'm kind of excited about this show - yes I know- just more trash t.v. -but I'm interested to see just how the teens will be portrayed. From previews alone, it looks as though the producers have found a Chuck, Serena, Blair, and Nate. Will there be any Vanessas or Dans in the future? Or will these upper east students only be attracted to money and one night stands? I guess we'll find out...
Really what I'm looking forward to the most in this show is the clothes. GG is known for its fashionable wardrobe, and ability to start trends (has anyone else noticed the Blair headband trend?). Will NYC prep do the same?

Wish list UO
This jacket is purely fabulous. I'm wishing for some cooler weather - maybe I should just take a road trip?
I'm loving cowl neck tanks, and scoop neck tees for Summer. They're simple and classic - they've got that modern twist and edgy vibe - plus they're a great way to keep cool. I find it ridiculously difficult to look cute during southern summers. I'm soo tired of denim minis and shorts with tank tops - it just looks soo...plain. I'm excited to see pieces of visual interest like this one - there's hope yet.
